Our Story
2009
KTC Group Limited began in India when our Founder and Director, Mr. Kuldip Singh, took a bold step to start his own electronics business in his hometown of Rayya, just 25 km from Amritsar, leaving behind his family’s tyre business. His entrepreneurial spirit turned this small venture into a highly successful distribution business by 2009.
2010
During this time, Mr. Singh visited New Zealand twice to see his son, who was studying there. He was drawn to the welcoming community and beautiful landscapes, and in 2010, he made the life-changing decision to relocate permanently. After closing his business in India, he began his journey in New Zealand by acquiring a gas station, Challenge Massey, marking KTC Group’s first step into the New Zealand market—a move that set the foundation for our growth.
2012
What began as a close-knit team of four family members soon flourished. We opened our first retail store in December 2011 and expanded into the B2B venture in July 2012. Environmental Responsibility
1. Energy Efficiency:
We continually seek ways to reduce our carbon footprint through energy-efficient practices across our facilities. Our state-of-the-art warehouses and offices are equipped with energy-saving lighting, optimized HVAC systems, and advanced insulation to minimize energy use.
2. Renewable Energy Integration
As part of our commitment to cleaner energy, KTC Group has taken steps to incorporate renewable energy sources into our operations. In several locations, we are exploring the installation of solar panels and other renewable energy solutions. These initiatives reduce dependency on non-renewable sources and help us make substantial contributions to a greener future.
3. Waste Reduction and Recycling
Reducing waste is a significant focus for us. We are in the process of adopting recycling programs in our offices and warehouses and encourage responsible disposal practices among our staff and partners. From minimizing single-use plastics to recycling electronic waste, we are dedicated to managing our resources wisely.
Sustainable Supply Chain Practices
KTC Group understands that sustainability requires a proactive approach to sourcing and logistics. We work with suppliers and partners who align with our environmental values, ensuring that our entire supply chain follows ethical and sustainable practices. By promoting transparency and accountability, we seek to make sustainability a shared responsibility throughout our network.
Innovating for a Sustainable Future
Our journey toward sustainability is ongoing, and we are continuously exploring new ways to innovate responsibly. Whether through greener packaging, eco-friendly product lines, or digital innovations that reduce physical resource use, we are committed to finding solutions that allow us to operate responsibly and sustainably.
A Collective Effort
At KTC Group, we believe that sustainability is a journey that requires everyone’s participation. We actively encourage our employees, partners, and clients to adopt sustainable habits, working together toward a future that prioritizes environmental and social well-being. Our commitment to “Empowering Progress, Together” means building a legacy of sustainability for future generations.
By making conscious choices today, KTC Group is proud to contribute to a sustainable tomorrow. Together, we are working toward a world where business growth and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.
Our Founder
Mr. Kuldip Singh – Founder and Director of KTC Group Limited
Mr. Kuldip Singh, the visionary behind KTC Group Limited, embarked on his entrepreneurial journey in India with a bold move—leaving his family’s established bikes business to start his own venture in consumer electronics in the small town of Rayya, just 35 km from Amritsar in 1998. His keen business acumen and dedication turned this modest operation into a thriving distribution business by 2006, establishing his reputation as a dynamic leader in the industry.
In 2010, Mr. Singh made the life-changing decision to relocate permanently, marking the first step for KTC Group Limited into the New Zealand market with the acquisition of Challenge Massey gas station. This was the beginning of a remarkable journey of growth and diversification.
By 2019, with KTC Group already flourishing in sectors like electronics retail and distribution, Mr. Singh identified a new opportunity within New Zealand’s housing market. With a deep-rooted passion to contribute to the community, he expanded KTC Group’s portfolio into property development, aiming to create affordable, quality homes for Kiwis.
With a proven track record spanning from 2019 to 2024 in property development and backed by a team of industry experts, Mr. Singh continues to steer KTC Group’s vision forward, emphasizing sustainable growth and enduring commitment to “Empowering progress together.”
